DOING BUSINESS WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: A FREE SEMINAR BY THE STONEWALL GROUP

The Stonewall Group of Phoenix announced that it will conduct a free seminar for local businesses on “Doing Business with the Federal Government.” This highly interactive presentation will be conducted on June 22 from 8:30 to 11:30 am at the City of Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Center at 302 N 1st Avenue N Phoenix (6th Floor).

The US Federal Government is the single largest procurer of goods and services in the world. Annually, approximately $11 BILLION in Federal contracts are awarded for work to be performed in Arizona. Most attendees will be surprised to learn about “the volume and variety” of opportunities in the Federal market. Tom Sheets, the Founder and President of The Stonewall Group, points out that “these contracts are not just the large Defense and Federal contracts that are awarded to the large industry contractors. Many of these contracts are “set-aside” for some category of small business, and include hundreds of day to day products and services used by every business and facility owner in the private sector.”

Many business owners have never assessed the scope of the Federal presence in the West—and the implications it has on local businesses. Often, people think of the Defense Department when they hear of Federal contracts. While our military installations in Arizona offer significant business opportunities, many other Federal departments also have a large operational presence in Arizona and neighboring states. These include the Interior, Justice, Agriculture, and Health & Human Services Departments, as well as several independent agencies and commissions.

Participants will learn about both the challenges and opportunities of marketing to the Federal government, the process for registering your company, how to find Federal opportunities, how to market your goods and services to Federal customers, and sources of assistance in navigating the Federal landscape.
